This patent pending technology is a completely new way of creating physical 3D objects, establishing a new category in additive manufacturing,
It doesn’t fall into any other existing technological segment of 3D printing, and provides unparalleled build speeds without limitations on print geometry.
There are various methods for additively creating parts, all of known as additive manufacturing or 3D printing. What is common with these processes is that they are building three dimensional objects layer by layer, one on top of the other, resulting in an utterly slow process.
3D printing technologies have not fundamentally improved since their inception in the early nineties. Productivity of 3D production systems are far too low to be able to live up to the promise of 3D printing disrupting the image how we perceive traditional manufacturing.
MAP technology addresses this by rethinking the fundamental concept of 3D printing. Part growing with MAP leads to high productivity.
The first 3D printer to use MAP technology for part creation is DO3D Innovations' SquareWave industrial 3D printer. Squarewave is a SLA type professional system that is designed to produce sizable parts over 200% faster than any printers today, without the heavy limitations of print geometry. More information on SquareWave is to be announced soon.
We were asking the same question from ourselfes in the last couple of years. By rethinking the basic concept of creating physical 3D geometries we found the answers we were looking for. Now that we managed to prove our concept with a working prototype it became a patent pending method and therefore all we can say at the moment that it is possible.
Altough MAP is not neccessarily layerless or SLA the first 3D printer utilizing MAP will be a SLA type machine called SquareWave. Squarewave is not a 3D printer in production at the moment, information on commercial availability will be announced later in 2016.
Since there is an ongoing patenting process we can not go too much into details at this stage however we would Iove to hear what you think and will do our best to answer all your questions. We truly beleive that MAP has the potential to take 3D printing to the next level so if you share the same excitement dont forget to sign up to our newsletter to get the latest info.
Marton has been leading product design projects at an international design firm, ending up as founder and chief designer for Central-Europe's only professional 3D printer manufacturer. Marton is leading the engineering team of six that has created a prototype for SquareWave, the first 3D printer to utilize DO3D's patent pending MAP technology.
Kata marks 10+ years of experience in corporate finances and business development and lately has helped a number of startups' incubation to investment rounds. Anxious about new and expanding technologies, Kata has worked with the DO3D team since the company's inception in 2013.
Tamas has been working with additiv technologies since 2009. He has researched 3D printing in the United States, then worked as reseller for one of the large industry players in Hungary. Tamas has later founded a rapidly expanding 3D printing bureau in the region and has been cornerstone for R&D at DO3D Innovations Ltd.
